My name is Hege Espeland Lygre (HEL), and I am an illustrator, artist and designer.
I come from a small place called Bømlo on the westcoast of Norway, but for the past 4 years I have lived in
Bergen, with my 10-year old son, Benjamin, and my boyfriend, Andreas.
I have a huge passion for drawing, painting, sewing and crocheting. I use most mediums, both traditionally and digitally (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign). I also design crochet clothes and accessories, and a series of crochet books are in progress.
I graduated as an illustrator from "Norges Kreative Fagskole" in Bergen in June 2009, and I have studied drawing and art in the past. I also have an old degree as an interior consultant, and a while back I worked as a
tattoo artist.
Right now I´m working as an assistent at a high school, as a freelance illustrator, as a designer, and I also have crochet lessons every other week.

Awards
I was first runner up when my school handed out their award "Gullspiren 2009" for "Best Illustration".
These are the illustrations that got me the award, an ABC-book for the first grade.
